About BRTA/LRTA

The Business Responds to AIDS/Labor Responds to AIDS (BRTA/LRTA) program is a public/private partnership that strategically promotes and assists the involvement of business and labor in HIV prevention, awareness and policies in the workplace to promote the development of comprehensive workplace HIV/AIDS programs.

There are five components to the BRTA/LRTA program:

National Resource Map

The National Resource Map provides a way to locate organizational and information resources in your state or region.

 

The economic and social cost of HIV/AIDS impacts businesses, labor organizations, communities, and families. Proactively addressing HIV/AIDS leaves a positive legacy for future generations.

Success Stories

Oakland, CA
The Oakland Business and Labor Responds to AIDS (BRTA/LRTA) Project has developed a flourishing partnership with the Black Wall Street District, a premier grassroots association of 280 merchants in Oakland, CA. In addition to displaying HIV prevention and testing messages in member stores, the association publishes a business directory that has helped BRTA/LRTA identify other potential business partners. more...

BRTA/LRTA offers materials that can assist with the prevention of HIV/AIDS in the workplace. Publications are free-of-charge and include brochures, pamphlets, and other resources for family and workplace education, occupational health, workplace accommodations, labor, and business. more...

Assessment Tool

Not sure where to start? Managers and labor leaders can use this assessment tool to determine whether their workplace has the resources it needs to respond to HIV/AIDS at work and to assess existing policies and programs.
