Labor Leader's Kit

The Labor Leader's Kit includes all the resources labor leaders need to build comprehensive HIV/AIDS workplace programs. It reviews the five components of the LRTA program and helps labor leaders and workers to develop policies on HIV/AIDS to educate workers and their families. The kit encourages all staff/workers to promote community service and volunteerism.

The Labor Leader's Kit provides:

Basic facts about HIV/AIDS
Sample contract, resolution, and policy language on HIV/AIDS
Detailed information on Federal laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973

Individual brochures also discuss worker training, benefits, and education. The kit includes profiles of unions that have responded to HIV/AIDS, the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, facts on preventing occupational exposure, and additional resources.
